registry editor

McAfee virus scan update requires me to go into the windows registry to delete an old entry in order to download the updated virus scan application. The McAfee website gives step by step instructions on how to do this, so that is fine. The problem is the registry editor window only stays open for a few seconds and then closes by itself before I can complete the necessary steps. Why is this happening and how can I get that window to stay open?

Greetings --

This behavior, which also often applies to the Task Manager, is
typical behavior of more than one virus/worm, the three below being
the most common:

W32.Yaha
