Registration period expired - can't log on?

Hi,
I recently intalled Windows XP Professional on my computer, but I didn't get around to registering it. Now the grace period has expired, and Windows XP will not let me log on to the computer. The message says that this is because the time period has expired and that I should contact a network administrator. There is no administrator - it's just me, and the two accounts that existed on this computer (Administrator and the one I created with my name) will not let me log on. Is there any way I can get around this problem

Thanks
Paul

Hello Paul
Registration is not required, activation is required.

If you have an evaluation copy and the 180 days have expired then this will
help.

After installing the retail version you have 30 days to activate.
Failure to activate is almost impossible for the reminder pops up all the
time.
If this is the case it will have to be activated before you can continue to
use it.

Why do people let themselves get into this state? You do get warned. . .

You should be able to hit F8 as BIOS info goes to black, and there take
Safe Mode. In that, go to
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Activate Windows
and take the option to activate over the phone. You will be given a
toll-free number to call, and a long number to read out and check back,
in exchange for another to type in
