Most computer retailers can offer you a complete retail copy of XP. I know
you can buy OEM copies which are somewhat less expensive than a full retail
copy but i know of someone who purchased an OEM copy and, after changing
some hardware a few months down the line, had to reactivate it again. This
was fine. However, he then decided to remove his network card from one PCI
slot to another. The result was a request for activation again. On this
activation Microsoft refused to activate the software telling him to return
it to the retailer and exchange it for a retail copy. So my advise is stay
clear of OEM copies!
