I have a laptop with windows 2000 professional. I need to boot from a disk
(Windows 98 disk) and reformat the computer, reinstalling it with windows 98.
Thanks.

To wipe the drive, some ways include; boot a win98/ME startup disk, run
fdisk and delete all partition information found (as long as NTFS is
primary). Or boot the Windows 2000 CD-Rom or setup disks and when you get to
the point, delete the existing NTFS and or other partitions found, then
abort the install. Or use a utility named delpart. Once removed you can boot
the Win98/ME CD-Rom or restore CD-Rom to start your install. Make sure you
have win9x device drivers available before hand.

....how do I boot from a disk or just reformat the thing? Preferrably boot
from disk. I want to uninstall windows 200 and install 98 in place of it.

bleh. ive never installed windows 98, or operation windows 2000, so if
someone could be kind enough to contact me on aim and give a step by step, i
would appriciate it. my aim is "HairyLikeAHobbit" . Thanks a lot guys.

(oh and if you cant, when i put in the windows 98 cd, how do i boot straight
to that cd and not go to windows; im guessing i push a key)
