Are you getting to the site via the links in the email from Microsoft
inviting you to try RC1?

Hi Darren,

There are plenty of people out there who are running Vista (legitimately)
who are not in the CPP. I know that Microsoft Canada gave out some 1,500
Vista CDs at the Energize IT event in June, and there are countless other
ways to do it I am sure.

Like Jane said if you are in the CPP you should have an e-mail from
Microsoft confirming it. Click the link they supplied to you for the
download, and you should be good. If not then the public release is
literally hours away!

That happens if your (out-of-spec) browser
hides the referrer. Basically, it's checking
if the DL link you are using is coming from
the same website, and not a link hosted/posted
on some other site. The most obvious symptom
of this in regular browsing are images that
don't load, showing an [x] instead.
