Are there any citations in your document? Click the "Manage Sources"
button in the "References" tab and check the "Current list" (that is
the column on the right) is not empty. If it is empty, then your
document does not contain any sources yet. You have to either copy
them from your master list (the left column) using the "Copy ->"
button or you have to create new ones.

If that is not the problem, check if the CITATION field actually
points to a valid citation. Right click on "Invalid Source Specified"
and select "Edit field ...". A dialog will pop up containing a string
looking like this " CITATION abd05 \l 1033 " or " CITATION abd05 ". In
this example abd05 is the tag of the citation you are refering to.
Make sure that one of your sources actually has this tag. Sometimes
changing the tag after inserting the citation might break the
connection. (Alternatively, you can just readd the citation as that
would guarantee the latest tag.)

If the above does not solve your problem, there is the possibility
that something is wrong with the stylesheet. "Invalid Source
Specified" is displayed if Word gets no or an empty result back from
the citation engine. The cause for this could be a number of things
(corrupt stylesheet, unsupported type, ...). You might want to try
using another style just to rule out that the problem is not related
to one style specifically.
