Reducing image size when doing copy paste

Hello,

I am copying images from Windows Explorer then switching to Powerpoint
to paste it there.
The image resolution is 1600x1200. When the image is pasted on a slide
it covers all the slide and it's time consuming to resize it. Is there
a way to tell Powerpoint to resize it to specific dimensions when doing
paste? (Using the Copy-Paste method)
