Redefine the word "CONTENT" in PowerPoint on your next upgrade.

In PowerPoint you have
(A) Text and Content
(B) Design Template and Content Template

I think the word "content" is used too loosely and causes confusion.

Can you substitute "content" in (A) with "graphics?"
Don't understand why you didn't do this in the first place?

The placeholders you're referring to can contain things other than graphics ...
movies, content ... er ... stuff? ... from Excel, Word or other programs.

Granted, "content" isn't the greatest term but "graphics" is too limiting.
I can't offhand think of a better way of putting it.

How about "non-text" or "visual aids?" Anything but "content???" Strictly
speaking, in plain English, text is also content of the slide too. Will keep
thinking.

I can't buy "non-text" because the placeholder might contain text, or at least
representations of it. And the whole presentation and the slides in it are visual
aids, so I have a problem with that.

images?? icons?? graphics plus?? other (i.e. text and other)??

Just thinking aloud and hoping to get other members think ......

Will keep brainstorming. There are many brilliant minds at Microsoft; may
be they can come up with something.

How about "objects?"

That works in the "non-specificity" category. ;-)

The term has other more specific usages though, particularly in programmer-speak.

I'm not sure that people wed to those usages would go for the change.

But with luck, they're watching and taking notes.

If they're not, surely the CIA or NSA is. Guys ... yeah, you up there in the black helo
... could you forward this to Gates? Thanks!
