red x's instead of pictures

N

Naina Redhu

I have read previous suggested fixes. I have done what they suggest -
I still see red x's.

When I upload pictures/graphics to the web - on imagestation, yahoo
albums - I am unable to see the latest pictures - the older uploads
never had a problem and earlier pics are visible. Very strange thing
is that I don't have this problem on flickr.com when I upload new
images there.

I have mshtml.dll, I have "removed" all firewalls - I had ZA,
SpywareBlaster, Spyware Guard - I also have Norton AntiVirus - not the
firewall. I have checked the file associations in the registry - they
are fine. I even added the UserH thingy in the registry to no effect.
I followed whatever was given in the microsoft page detailing a
solution to this problem - still not solved. I even renamed and then
altogether deleted the HOSTS file.

I restored file associations using a script - still nothing.

This is a new problem - also happens in FrontPage when I upload a new
webpage with new images - I cannot see the new images on the web -
cannot see them in the "pahe preview" mode of FrontPage either - the
images are visible in the "normal" preview mode. (FrontPage2002)

Windows XP, IE 6.
I even tried Firefox - but I still see the red X's.
I have cleaned the cache, set the caching to "every time I visit the
page". I have read nearly all available posts on fixes... nothing
works.

I would appreciate it if someone who has had this problem solved would
kindly reply to this. It's frustrating not being able to see what I'm
uploading since the images need to be used in web work for clients...

Is there something I missed? Oh yes - three days since this roblem
started - I have not downloaded any new software/files...

Please help!

Hi,

To recap - you said you have read the previous fixes.
Could you confirm that you have read all of the resources
presented below? Please take the time to confirm that it's
not one of the obvious causes before we move on to trying to
find other explanations :)
