Right-click on your Desktop and select:
Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop.
Under the General tab, click once on the
[ Recycle Bin (empty) ] icon to highlight it,
then click [ Restore Default ].

Carey have tried that to no avail. I have uninstalled Norton System Works
through add/remove. Went into regedit and deleted anything containing
"symantec and Norton". Tried removing "recycler" and all I get there is"
Cannot delete recycler: access is denied" Have been in touch with Norton
tech, and all his advice is for naught. I removed NSW on my old drive and
installed a new drive than copied the old drive to the new drive. The new
drive copied as NTFS where my old drive was Fat 32. Has this anything to do
with this problem?

Hello,

If you want to go *into* Recycler ( and delete what you want in it ,
even delete the whole folder ) you can download and install
*scesp4i.exe* which will allow you doing whatever you want with Recycler
, System Volume Information ....
You'll have all the rights on them .

You can get it here :

http://www.antiserver.it/Win NT/Security/

or here :
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/winnt/winnt-public/tools/scm/scesp4i.exe
( but this link did not work for me )

It runs on my computer ( Win XP SP 2 ) .
I had deleted Recycler several times and even deleted a few restore
points ( not all of them ) .

Joly jumper. Not quite sure of this. Little confusing to me.
Hello ,

Do you want to delete Recycler ? ( When you'll reboot , you'll have a
new empty one ) .
If so ,you can download and install *scesp4i.exe* , which will create a
new tab , labelled "Security" ( you'll be able to see that with a right
click on Recycler or System Volume Information ) and you can give you
all the rights on those folders ( check if there is no virus inside ,
delete what you want , even the whole folder ... )
http://www.antiserver.it/Win NT/Security/
I installed it ( With Win XP SP2 ) because my AV had told me there was a
virus in a restore point made by the system but it couldn't delete it ,
so with this software ( released by Microsoft itself ) I could go inside
System Volume Information and get rid of that virus by only deleting the
bad restore point ( and not the other ones ) .
I also deleted my folder "Recycler" because there were some things in
it that I didn't want and I never got the message "access denied" with
any folder .

If that can help you !

JJ
