Hi Meaginn,
Firstly, I'm going to assume you're running some version of Windows XP for
this explanation. If you're running another Operating System that's not too
old, the steps should be more or less the same, perhaps just with different
wording.
Secondly, are you aware that you can also empty the recycle bin with these
methods:
- Right-clicking it on the desktop, and from the menu selecting 'Empty
Recycle Bin'
- Once you open the Recycle Bin, on the file menu there should be an 'Empty
Recycle Bin' option.
If you still want a link inside your recycle bin so you can empty it, check
this:
- Open the Recycle Bin
- From the Tools menu, select 'Folder Options'
- On the 'General' tab, make sure the 'Show common tasks in folders' button
is selected
This should show a side panel within the Recycle Bin that has an 'Empty
Recycle Bin' option within it.
