Recycle Bin

I am running XP Pro and have noticed I don't have the Recycle Bin icon on my
desktop. I've tried help and search to find out houw to get it on the
desktop or to even use it, with no results.

Can someone advise on how to get the shortcut onto my desktop or, at the
least, use the Recycle Bin feature some other way?

Thans in advance.

Hi, Goto Control Panel and double click display (if on classic view)
but click Appearance and Themes then display if on category view. When
the dialog menu appears click the desktop tab and click the customize
desktop button. Then chose recycle bin from the "desktop icons" and
click apply. You should get a recycle bin on the desktop :).

Sounds like you're using the default XP display theme. You can get the
classic view with the desktop icons back if you right click on Start, click
Properties, select Classic Start menu, and click OK.

Hope this helps.

Great answer from Usman, also, I would suggest to use some file
shredder instead of simple Recycle Bin, if you are not experienced then
use simpler but yet powerful background mode file shredder.

Why use a file shredder? And what exactly is "simpler yet powerful
background mode file shredder"?
