Hi,

By default a hidden Recycle Bin folder is placed on each partition by
Win2K or by WinXP. This is normal and if deleted, it will just be
replaced.

The System Volume Information (SVI) folder is placed on each
partition/drive by System Restore (SR) in WinXP. If they are deleted
they will simply be recreated. As long as the partition is not being
monitored by SR the SVI folder will be very small in size. To reduce
problems, I would suggest disabling all partitions/drives from being
monitored by SR, except the partition WindowsXP is installed on.

How do I disable it? F and G are only for storage data. As a matter of
interest to see if the external hdd is working properly or not, when I plug
into my friend's pc with the jumper on 'cs', the pc would not boot. Why is
that so? Thanks

Use these step by step instructions:

F and G are only for storage data.

SR doesn't monitor data files, so there is no need the have the
partition monitored.

You will have to check the manufactures instructions on how to configure
the drive.
