Recycle Bin icon will not show empty without manual screen refresh

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate (x86).

I accidently deleted my Desktop Recycle Bin.

I restored it (Control Panel/Personalise/Change Desktop Icons).

I clicked on the Recycle Bin (Full) icon and then clicked on Default.

I repeated this operation on Recycle Bin (Empty)

Now, whenever I delete file(s) the Recycle bin shows "Full" and when I
right-click and select Empty Recycle Bin it emptys BUT the icon does NOT
change to show an empty Recycle bin but stays as a Recycle Bin (Full).

The ONLY way I can make the icon display the correct status is to manually
force the change by a screen refresh (or F5).

Any ideas how I can restore the situation to default normal where the full
bin, when emptied, will change to bin empty?

You are posting to the wrong forum. You should be posting to
MS.Public.Windows.Vista.General or one of the many other Vista forums.
