Recreate Cluster

P

Patrick G.

I will be replacing the shared storage system for a 2 node
Windows 2000/SQL2000 cluster in a Windows NT4 domain.
Replacing Compaq RA4100 with an HP MSA1000.

My plan is to completely deconstruct the cluster and SQL
virtual server, reinstall operating systems on nodes,
recreate the cluster and virtual server with all the same
parameters (ie...cluster name, IPAddress, virtual SQL
Server name, etc...) but with the new MSA1000 attached.

Should I anticipate any name resolution problems when I
recreate the cluster and virtual server with the same name
as before?

Any hints or suggestions in regards to any phase of this
project would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Since you are reconstructing every thing on your cluster from ground-up,
there should not be any issues with name resolutions.
