if xp pro works fine, i don't know why you are messing wiht the recovery
console?

it looks like you don't really know what you're doing OR you can't explain
it clearly?

trying to do too many differnet things and confusing the problem.

FYI if you have SP1 or SP2 installed on your PC you can not install RC from an XP CD. It will not work (the RC). You need to slipstream the XP CD with SP2 then install the RC from the slipstreamed XP SP2 CD.

| with the network I did erase the cmdcons folder of the other HDD
| with the content of the cmdcons folder of this HDD ,
| then I installed the other HDD as master on this puter,

| I had only the blinking cursor.

I Can't get Recovery Console to work ,
i did install it on my hard drive ,
when at boot time i select "Recovery Console" ,
it just shut down after the keyboard detection (i think) .

Forgot to let you know one thing ,

computer make and model??

what do you mean XP CD is HP????

Model etc is not important in my case.

On the CD there is this mention :
"Only for distribution with HP workstations or Compaq business desktops"

I know this sound stupid but I am going to buy another XP pro copy ,
and remove all this HP stuff.

Thank you all .
