Recovery Console -- 32-bit atapi

I assume that Recovery Console (generated by issuing a 'winnt32
/cmdcons' request') uses 32-bit atapi drivers that are installed in
%windir%\system\drivers.

So how come when I boot into that mode, I can't see my SATA hard
drive? I'm basing that comment on the fact that a bootcfg /list or
/scan or /rebuild parameter does not see my winxp installation on my
sata drive. It does see my current boot/system partition, however.

in normal Windows xp usage, my SATA hard drive works just fine, so
it's not an issue with the sata drive not being installed correctly.

I'm not sure if SATA drives and controllers use a device driver that isn't
loaded in that mode or not. That may be the reason.
