Hi everyone,

I got a problem with recovering emails that i've deleted...

I deleted some items by mistake from my Inbox. Then obviously iI went to the
Deleted Items to move back to my Inbox... When i clicked move to Inbox... it
opened a new message to send with all my emails attached... i closed it, and
it asked me to save... so I just click no...

Now all my messages are dissapeared... What can i do now???

Please advice....

Thank You

I will try and monitor this space for replies - a whole file has just
vanished from my email system. As I am fairly sure I did nothing, I was
wondering if Outlook deleted the file because I had too many emails in my
system. I was not told in advance. Is there anything I can do to recover my
vanished file.
many thanks.

When you select the items (in Deleted Items or any other folder) and
right-click to move the items, sending e-mail is not involved. You get
a popup window that has you selected to which destination folder to move
the selected items. So I don't know what you did (because you didn't
say what you did) to generate an *e-mail* with those items. It looks
like you chose a bunch of e-mails and then tried to create a NEW e-mail
with all of the others as attachments, and then you chose to not send
that e-mail and instead delete it, but that would still not delete the
items in the source folder. Sounds more like you selected a bunch of
mail items, right-clicked, and selected Forward (instead of Move to
Folder) which created a new mail, decided not to send that new mail with
all those attachments, and then go deleted all the selected mail items.

Don't know where you "clicked to move to Inbox" since that would be
somewhere buried in a menu, context menu, or toolbar after first
selecting some items to move. Of course, no one knows WHICH version of
Outlook that you are using, either.

That's why I am wondering... I clicked to move back to my Inbox, but it
opened a new message. There is something wrong with it! I'm 100% sure what I
did.
Anyways if I generate a new email, my old Deleted Items will be still
there... but now I don't have them. My version is Microsoft Outlook 2003
SP2...

Thanks anyway....

If you try the same procedure again (and note it down this time), does
the same thing happen - that selecting Move To Folder results in created
a new mail window with the selected items as attachments? If so, maybe
you have a plug-in installed that is altering the behavior of Outlook.

Outlook would never do that.

After the first time, i was a bit confused, so I tried to the emails that
have left... it was probably 100 messages i wanted to move, i did ctrl + A to
move them all, but only about 90 were selected.... after I right-clicked ->
move to folder... -> Inbox -> OK.... it opened a new message as I said. I
closed the message and the emails weren't any more there. I tried to the 10
emails left and the same thing happened...

But i don't know why, now is working well already~ I mean when i clicked the
same buttons, emails jumps to the Inbox.

But if I have clicked to forward those emails, Which will open a new message
with their attachments, and click cancel without saving, the old emails will
be still there! The only way to delete a msg in deleted items folder is to
click detele permanently. But I'm sure that i didn't clicked that button...

Thank you very much
