Recovering E-Mails From Outlook Express

I am using Outlook Express 6. I received a message, asking if I wish to
compact files, Have said yes previously without a problem. Yesterday, I
said yes to Compact question and when completed E-mails in my Inbox for the
past 6 months are gone. How do I recover them? They are not in "deleted
E-mails." E-mails sent are all there.

Assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

Outlook Express is part of Internet Explorer, not Microsoft Office which is
what this newsgroup supports.
Please post your question in the OE newsgroup which you can find located
here:

When I tried to access the web site you provided below, I could not access
it. I went to the IE Outlook 6 user group, clicked on "New Question," and
the same page reloaded -- never got to ask question. I tried again and was
asked to log on and received an error message. Bottom line, I could not get
to ask my question in the IE Outlook 6 group. Please help.

It should prompt you to sign in with a Windows Live account (ie hotmail or
msn address or another you've already signed up with).
