Recover a write over file

Hi,
I accidentally copied an older version of a file onto a newer version
causing myself loosing all changes made (3 months emails).
The file was PST outlook file.
Is there a way to recover a file that has just been written over? Not delted
but just written over.

No, there isn't. Time to think about backing up your important
files to an independent medium once every day or once every
week. 2.5" disks in USB enclosures make low cost but highly
effective backup media.
