Record limit and file size

1. Excel has a limit of the number of rows. Is there a
limit on Access how many records can be saved in one file?

2. The file size gets bigger everyday even after
compacting. Eventually the flash memory cannot carry
it. What is the best solution to manage the size like
breaking it down into two or so?

Hi Kenneth,

Here are some additional things to check out regarding .mdb file bloat:

1. No, until you reach the max file size

2. WinZip compresses most of my Access dbs by about 80%. Why are you moving
it around that much? Have you split it into Front-end and Back-end?

Hmmm......after posting this message, I attempted to verify the saved link. It seems to be
opening up a different search (Word Mail Merge) on my PC. Here is an alternate link, although
you may have to deal with word wrap issues to put this longer link back together again:

Many thanks to all of your advice. I basically save the
file from the office PC in a flash memory to work on the
home PC.
