Reconnecting to network drives

Jerry Plath

When reconnecting my laptop to my company's network each
morning, I get a "Could not reconnect all network drives"
message. I know I can go to "My computer" and select the
mapped drive that is not reconnecting and then get
the "Incorrect password or unknown user name" message.
The prompt shows my username, so I enter my password and
everything works fine. The problem is that this used to
happen without my intervention.

What do I need to do to connect and log on to the mapped
network drive automatically?

Thanks for your help.

Quick question does your laptop autologin? Because it sounds like the
password on your laptop's local account may not be set or different than the
password on the server. Because if someone setup your laptop to login as
[user] with no password, when it tries to reconnect to the server, it sends
the user id and password you started your laptop with. But when you open my
computer you enter your correct server password. I can from my machine
connect as administrator to the server even though my userid might be
johndoe.
