Reconnect to disconnected session

Rob

Our terminal server users are unable to reconnect to a
disconnected session, but rather a new session is created
when they connect again. We have an NT domain so I cannot
set the reconnect option under the users active directory
account. If I set up a local user on the Terminal Server
and set the reconnect option there users can then
reconnect. I do not want to have to add all our Terminal
Server Users as Local Users. If I go into the Terminal
Services Configuration and go to the properties of the RDP
connection, under the sessions tab I have the option to
override user settings for reconnect. However the check
box is greyed out and I cannot select it. I think this
would work if I could figure out why it’s grayed out?
Thanks for all replies

The issue is not disconnecting, as this may be desirable,
it is reconnecting to a disconnected sesion.

Understood. Nevertheless, the keep alives have solved this same issue for
me.

Are you seeing additional issues, example, the server not releasing
disconnected sessions or other resources? This could point to a different
issue.
