Recommended Install order w/Clean Win XP(sp2) Pro....

Hello,

Would anyone be able to recommend or advise on what would be the "best"
order in which to add/install Device Drivers when doing a fresh, clean
install? I've been in the middle of doing the updating and driver installs of
my 1st XP install/setup attempt, but after getting 3/4 done witn drivers
(namely when Doing SoundMax Audio Driver), I cannot get any version of the
Driver to keep from causing certain Application Faults (mmc.exe, mmsys.cpl,
Rundll32.exe, Ntdll.dll, etc. type faults)...even though it IS a signed,
up-to-date WHQL Driver. And on top of the matter, no one here seems to be
able to tell me any successful way to resolve the problem currently (expect
completley removing the Driver itself and having NO Sound)...so I am thinking
I may just go get a better Sound card, wipe the Drive, and start over again,
since it wouldn't really take too long to get back to the stage I'm at now
anyways. Besides, after much checking, trying to test and check things, it
seems like many setting may have fouled too just recently. And because the
Sound card is considered "integrated", a new, clean install may be required
anyways, if I do go with a whole new card........

So Basicly, I'd like to get the best suggested order for installing the PC's
"Common Devices, Windows Updates, Etc. (like Chipsert Drivers 1st., Video
Drivers, 2nd, Etc. MS UpdatesEtc.), and so on , once the Install gets me to
the first login/desktop phase.

I know everyone has their own install order preferences. I'd appreciate it
greatly if I could just get an Idea of what people around here would
suggest....Thanks)

I install chipset, network drivers, video, sound first. The order isn't
important unless I need to get online to download other drivers then I
ensure the nic drivers go in early . Next I create a new Restore point. Then
I install Windows Updates. After which I install drivers for peripherals as
needed.

Intel insist that the 1st software installation once the OS is installed is
the
chipset installation utility,if RAID is installed the matrix storage
utility would be
next.Without the 1st,the board will not function properly.....

Thank you very much for the info, I think it should be of good help.
