Reclaiming My Documents and Settings folder in XP

C

Hi folks,

I installed Windows Xp Home Edition on my PC in the C: drive (Primary)
I used it for 30 days without activating it as I only intended to try i
out.

But during those 30 days, I stored a lot of important documents an
bookmarks on my Desktop and Bookmarks folders respectively. After th
30th day, Windows refused to allow access to my desktop or folde
unless I activated XP Home. Now on my friends' advice, I intended to g
in for XP Professional instead of XP Home. For fear of deleting m
'Documents and Settings' folder on the C: drive, I installed the new X
Pro OS in my E: drive and am using the PC booting from it(E:drive/X
Pro).

I now want to format my C: drive, install XP Pro in it and delete th
XP Pro OS from the E: drive.
But before that, I want to recover my documents from my 'Documents an
settings' folder in the original C: drive which had ran under XP Home
But I am unable to copy or move the folder as I get the error- 'Acces
denied'

During the above said problems, I was logged in as an Administrato
with full privileges and I used an account different from the Use
Account whose Profile 'Documents and Settings' folder I sought t
move.

My questions are:

Will installing XP Pro over XP Home on my C: drive, delete m
'Documents and Settings' Folder under my profile?

Thankyou for your patience.

Regards,
