receiving messages

I have a new Vista computer and have Office 2007. I have configured Outlook
exactly as I did on my older XP and have gotten it to open with my old files,
calendar and contacts. I can send messages but not receive. It says my user
name or password is incorrect. ??? And the dialog box with username and
password comes up in other programs. Please help--I started this process
three days ago!

My old computer is still available so I can check new messages there.

I assume you have already verified your username and password to be correct?

If you have a virus scanner installed which integrates with Outlook,
uninstall/disable this integration and try again.
