receiving faxes on your PC instead of printing them on the all-in-one...

I have a user on XP Pro - that has an HP OfficeJet 7310 all-in-one
printer/fax/scanner connected via USB to her computer. She would like me to
see if I can configure her printer to send the incoming faxes to her
computer instead of printing them on the fax machine - specifically she
would like them to routed to her Outlook client (which uses our local
exchange 2000 server)

After talking to an Hp technician, there is no way this can be done using
their software. he explained that it could be done if a fax card was
installed in the PC (there isn;t one) but that is not an option.

Does anyone know of any 3rd party fax software that may be able to pick up
on faxes coming to the all-in-one and re-route them to the users PC as say a
..pdf file? (even if it can't link to Outlook - she would be happy...)

I know this can be done with a fax card etc... but what if you do not have
one installed?

Thanks,

Brad

The All in One will not let the faxes be copied to the PC. It has the fax
built-in and must be sent out on the printer.

You can add a fax card to the PC for under $30.00 and then configure the Ai0
not to "answer" faxes .

You need a fax capable modem connected to the PC for this. And the
appropriate software to answer as need to receive and store the fax. Some
send end fax machines won't send the data unless the appropriate response is
received by them.
