Received Time - Email

WinMail appears to be set to Pacific time while I'm Eastern Standard time.
Uniquely it only affects received not sent mail. Any advice?

Not sure if I have the same problem, but it certainly seems related.

I am set on GMT (UK) time but when I send to the US the mail leaves my inbox
but then is not delivered until the same time ET so the message is held
somewhere for five hours (i.e. if I send at 11:00 am in London,UK, it is
delivered to the recipient at 11:00 local time instead of 06:00, US Eastern
Time,)

This happens whether I use Outlook 2007, Windows Mail or Web mail (through
IE on a Vista machine). I have tried three different email servers
(different ISPs).

If I use a Win XP machine this doesn't happen.

To confuse matters further, when using the web mail account the recipient
receives the message on Pacific Time so it is delieverd even later (so in the
above example they receive the message after a delay of 8 hours)

Thank you. Believe it or not "been there, done that" but was misled by the
GMT zone and never looked for EST buried in the middle. Thanks for your help.

I think someone is confusing Received time with Sent time.

It was a temporary quick fix unfortunately. The email send and receive times
were corrected but I just noticed the computer clock time has jumped three
hours...the same three hour disconnect that email was having. Could it be a
bug in the clock?

If you change the timezone it might change the clock time. So go back to
Date and Time and change the timezone first and then make sure the clock is
set correctly.

Did that and was fine last night. However this am the computer clock was
awry. I changed again and will see. I'll keep you posted and thanks for the
help!

That's precisely what I thought, but there is definitely a physical lag as I
have been on the phone to the person when the message arrives some five hours
late (ET). Moreover the messages arrive precisely five hours after being
sent.

I tried setting my time zone to ET (from GMT) and the mail then arrives
within seconds.

Sorry, but I can't help. I can't think of any way WinMail could do this.

I'm having similar issues with send and receive times. To test, I sent an
e-mail to myself. I sent the message at 7:11. This was correctly shown as
the Sent time, and matched the time on the computer clock. I received the
message within seconds, yet the Receive time was shown as 9:12. All of my
Receive times appear to be off by a uniform 2 hours. Anyway to reset the
Receive clock only???

This error means that your computer's time zone is not set correctly.

Right-click on the time display, Adjust Date/Time, Change Time Zone.
After the time zone change, you will have to reset the clock.
