Rebuilding the License Database

Hello,

We are getting licensing warnings in the event logs, seeing high cpu
utilization because of llssrv.exe (License Logging Service), and other
symptoms that indicate a problem with license replication. The servers
are Win2000 S SP4.

I would like to reset the license database, stop llssrv from running on
all computers, and setup licensing properly.
What are the best practices for doings so?

Best practice? Disable the buggy software, and use paper and pencil to
track you license count.

I'll have no say over whether or not llssrv is buggy, I have had it
working fine in many other facilities. I can say that the
implementation here is incorrect. There was, iirc, a document or KB
article that showed how to setup it up. Disabling on the member
servers, only running on the domain controllers, et cetera. Cannot find
it now, of course.

Anyone have some recommendations in regards to resetting licensing and
setting it up properly?
