Rebooting over & over again...

While instructed by McAfee personnel to go into my boot up command
prompt to run a virus scan, I now find my XP Pro system constantly
rebooting over and over again.

I did remove one file which got back on the system - an Iomega file
IOMDisk.sys . I removed it because I disabled the Iomega Zip 100
drive. It caused me problems during install, but it somehow - (I must
have forgotten and plugged it back in) it got installed again.

They had me disable the restore function then enter the command prompt
at startup. It wouldn't start in command mode, and now it doesn't run
windows nor does it run in safemode. It just reboots every time the
timer runs down on the choice, then reboots again.

Anyone who can offer assistance?? My sincerest thanks....

Lionheart

In the attempt to boot from the CD and the Recovery , I encounter
these options.... I know this is not normal...
"This computer is already in the process of being upgraded to
Microsoft Windows. What do you want to do?

* To continue current upgrade? Press Enter

* To cancel current upgrade and install new version of Windows? press
F-10

* To exit setup? Press F-3

I am not able to get into a recovery mode at all.

ROTFLMAO, yeah why one would try to be as confusing as possibl
generally comes from newbies that tend to copy info that they don'
understand

Why any virus program no matter a dog or not would need to be run tha
way is not normal, beware of removing files with sys. titles they ten
to screw the PC big time

It should be run as any program would be

It could be time to find a 98 boot disk and start again

Any upgrade should be avoided, clean installs of any o/s is the way t
go

Bummer
