Rebooting issues.

I've been having trouble with my computer randomly rebooting. It doesn't
happen at any specific time and doesn't even happen every day... I don't
even know if I'm writing in the correct forum area I should be, or even if it
is a Microsoft-related problem. This is the first place I've thought to look
for my problem and any help would be appreciated.

My computer kind of just shuts off by itself. There's no warning or
anything. At first I thought it was just overheating, but I've moved my
computer to a more ventilated space and everything seems cool. I did a virus
scan and stuff like that, nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. I'm
currently using Windows XP Pro.

Again, not sure if it's my operating system, but it's the first place I'm
looking to start in order to figure out what could be wrong with my computer.

Thank you for taking time in reading this~

Check the Event Viewer to see if there are any messages in the logs about the
shutdowns.

Also, right-click My Compter, select Properties, select the Advanced tab, select
the Settings button in Startup and Recovery, and remove the checkmark from
Automatically Restart choice under System Failure.

Thank you for your response.

I went to my event log and pulled up the most recent post placed there.
Here is what is said:

0000000001: 2006-07-11 19:48:54:312 Unknown ACE Component Shell type
[unknown]
Error Called by: ATI.ACE.CLI.Implementation.CLI::Main
processID:02424 threadID:(CLIMace
) domainName:(cli.exe )
assemblyName:(CLI.Implementation, Version=1.2.2172.1893, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=90ba9c70f846762e)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure what that means, I'm really quite computer illiterate. Any futher
help on this would most certainly be appreciated.

Once again, thank you for your time.
