Reboot problems with audio hardware

I just wiped and rebooted a new hard drive for a Dell Inspiron 8600 and now I
have no sound. I do not know how to get my computer to recognize that there
are no drivers installed. Can someone help me with this problem?

After you install an operating system, you must then install the drivers
for all your hardware. This includes the chipset (motherboard), audio,
network, video, and in your case any laptop-related software such as
power management.

Most Dells come with a Resource CD which includes all the drivers for
your computer. Use this if you have it. If you don't have a Resource CD,
go to Dell's tech support website for your Inspiron 8600 and download
all the appropriate drivers for installation.
