Reboot loop after WinXP SP2

Installed SP2 seemingly successfully and logged in for
first time, but can't get back in ever since except via
Safe Mode.

I turn on the computer, it posts, get WinXP logo, and
before get to the login screen (after a long stare at a
solid black screen) the computer reboots.

Boot with Logging showed:
....
Loaded driver Ntfs.sys
Loaded driver NDIS.sys
Loaded driver Mup.sys
Loaded driver agp440.sys
Did not load driver ACPI Multiprocessor PC
Did not load driver Audio Codecs
Did not load driver Legacy Audio Drivers
Did not load driver Media Control Devices
Did not load driver Legacy Video Capture Devices
....

and then get about 900 lines of "Did not load driver..."
with *many* repeats. I searched MSDN - found 2 KB
articles about restart loops (878474 & 873161). Neither
applies.

I've already backed out of final SP2 once - updated video
drivers and now re-installed and trying again. Any ideas?

Embarrassed to say I was looking at the wrong bootlog.
Here are the real parts that didn't load - everything else
in the log loaded - still get looping restarts:

\SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS
....
\SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\lbrtfdc.SYS
\SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\Sfloppy.SYS
\SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\i2omgmt.SYS
\SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\Changer.SYS
\SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\Cdaudio.SYS
....
\SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\processr.sys
\SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\PCIDump.SYS
\SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\redbook.sys
....
