Real Tek Audio

After removing the Real Tek program from my pc using add/remove after
experiencing a DLL relocation error message, I am unable to successfully
reinstall it and get audio back on my pc. my add/remove folder shows the
following software
is installed on my computer: 1) Realtek AC'97 Audio 2) Realtek High
Definition Audio Driver.

I also deleted update KB925902 using add/remove and then detected the patch
KB935448 already installed.

Question: why is there still no sound on my pc?

Right-click on My Computer, select Properties, click on the Hardware tab,
and click on Device manager. is there a yellow exclamation mark against your
sound controller?

I don't understand. You could have imaged this system, reinstalled XP
clean, then the apps, and restored the data many times over since you
started posting this issue week(s) ago. If you haven't found a solution so
far, why don't you just get it over with.

What about all the time and aggravation you've spent on it? What does that
cost? But suite yourself.

Maybe you'll think about employing a backup solution involving drive imaging
using something like Acronis True Image Home version 10 to image the system
to an external hard drive? Regularly image the system for backup in
particular before making any changes such as through Windows update. If
something hoses the system them restore a recent image.

Of course you must have some sort of reliable backup solution in place now
to restore it in case of a system failure such as a hard drive crash or
such, since running the system 24/7 seems to be critical for you.

brilliantly put. too bad u didn't channel some of that sarcasm into a
solution to this problem. if you'd been reading the posts, you'd notice new,
different probable solutions being tabled each time I pose the problem.
please don't infringe on my right to use this service to learn more about my
system nor upon my right to exercise a degree of patience. finally, no one
is holding a gun to your head, so don't trouble yourself getting involved
from now on unless you plan on helping out like the other fine people have
been.

peace out.

Sigh, I am trying to help you by getting you to think about the long term
here. There is more than one way to approach a problem. This could have
been resolved ages ago. Now if your whole intent is just to learn about
your system then go for it. But your reason about why you haven't
reinstalled was "that would cost money and time without my system" Which
leads to the the issue I brought up, what backup solution is in place to
keep this critical system running and concurrently to minimize down time.
System problems and data loss are an issue of when, not if. I surmise there
is none, and somehow my asking has made you uncomfortable. I didn't mean to
do that or to get into an argument. Suite yourself. But I suggest you look
into the drive imaging solution so you don't have to go through this agony
again.

Hello,

Am going to state some obvious checks
- Re-Check that your speakers are connected, switched on, and volume turned
on
- Re-Check that your volume is not muted in Volume Controller
- Re-Check that your speakers are connected to the correct port (Green)
- Try connecting different speakers / ear phone to the green port
- If your port's allow for jack sensing, open the SoundMax/AC97 utility in
Control Panel and configure the green port for Line Out.
- Finally, open the sound card utilities that may have been installed with
the driver and fiddle around with them :)

Hello,

Also make sure that you are controlling the correct volume:

Volume Controller > Options > Properties > CHECK Playback > TICK ALL Boxes
below > OK

Volume Controller > Options > CHECK Advanced Controls

Any Advanced buttons coming out? If so, click them and UNCHECK any 'digital
output only' or something along the lines of that.

the problem with our resident net nanny, is no other mvp has created any fix for your problem for him to copy.

my only recommendation would be to considered a repair installation. or have you tried/considered a SFC scan now.
