readonly flag

Help!

I have microsoft windows XP home edition with latest updates. A few
days ago,
the system changed "by itself". For all the folders, the read-only
flag
is turned one, and if I turn it off, it turns itself on immediately!
So I cannot save changes to
documents. What to do?

I have run all my antivirus programs, they find nothing.

Do nothing. Fiolders may be R/O but the files are sitll R/W.

If you can delete the folder and/or write to a file within said folder... where's the
problem ?

Do nothing. This is completely normal, and you are mistaken--it didn't
change.

Your folders are not read-only. The read-only flag doesn't apply to
folders.

Thanks, but it did change!
To be specific, I use latex to write math documents with the miktex
system and the
Texcniccenter TEX editor. When I edit a file, try to rerun TEX on
it,the Texcniccenter editor
will write out all changed file before rerunning latex. TexnicCenter
says it is not allowed
to write out the changed file.that did'nt happen before!

Find another reason for that problem. As Ken Blake noted, this is the way the OS works and
is normal.
