Reading Documents sent with Outlook

Hi. I've suddenly developed a problem when trying to open in Word a document
which has been sent as an attachement in Outlook. Word just hangs and won't
open the document. If I save the document first, it will then open normally
in Word. This is happening with any document received in this way, and not
just a specific file. Anyone any ideas?

It's generally not a good idea to open a Word attachment directly from
email -- save it first.

Thanks, but whilst I appreciate it may not be a 'good idea', it should still
work!! The solution to the problem below has fixed it. Thanks.

I think you said that you were already doing the one thing that needs
to be done to "fix" it!

If clicking the document starts Word but Word then crashes, see

If it starts Word but fails to open the document, check the registry
settings shown at http://www.gmayor.com/Document_Not_Found.htm
