Read receipts not tracking

I am sending multiple messages to our offices worldwide, all with a read
receipt request. Upon receiving the notification that a message was
read/viewed by the recipient not all sent messages are tracking the read
receipts. Some are, some are not and I can't figure out why. Any
suggestions? My original messages are in the Sent Items folder and the read
receipts are in the InBox, have been viewed, closed and left in the Inbox.

Tracking is great but why isn't it working on all the Sent messages?

Do all of the receipts show the receipt icon? If the TNEF (it holds the
tracking information) is damaged by the mail servers in anyway, tracking
won't be automatic.

Yes, each receipt has the same icon - a round circle with a check mark and
squiggly lines stacked at the right. Interestingly, the sent messages that
are not tracking the replies don't have a tracking tab either. Does that
have anything to do with it or does the tracking tab appear only when
tracking happens? How would I know if the TNEF is damaged? Would anything
appear in the header of the receipt if I view the Options for that particular
message?
