Read only files

Dean

I am an administrator on my XP Pro system that I operate at home. Because of
a problem with an application I discovered that when I remove the read only
tag from a file It appears to be removed but when I reopen the properties of
the file the read only tag is again present. How can I resolve this problem?
I have 2 gigs of Ram and over 150Gigs of diskspace.
Thanks
Dean

Where is the file located (be very desriptive) and why is it you want to
remove the read-only status?

The file is located at
E:\My Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5
The support staff at Ninja Traders have instructied me to remove the file
NinjaTrader.mdb so that the system would recreate it as it is corrupt. When
I attempt to remove the file, I get an error message that access is denied.
When I look at the files Properties, I see that it has the read only box
checked. The support
Staff is surprised at this and suggested I contact you folks.
The porgram "Ninja Trader" operated fine yesterday and I have performed a
system rollback to no avail.
Thanks

You may need to temporarily stop NinjaTrader
from running, also if NinjaTrader has a "Service"
running this may also may need to be stopped,
then try deleting the file.

Thank you John. This did work. Unfortunatly, the original problem is not
resolved and I am going to have to return to the Ninja support.

if it's possible, move the hd to another pc as a slave, and then attempt to
change the status of the file and delete it.
