Read-Only due to Linked tables?

When sharing databases on a network with multiple table links to other
databases on the network, I frequently get "read-only" when I open my primary
working database. It seems to happen when the first person opens the other
db with links to mine and Access seems to think this is the administrator
even though not opened exclussively. I was told by the person who created
these dbs that it was the linked tables causing the problem. I think it is
the network permission and security settings on the folders where the
databases are sitting. That said, I cannot find anything on Access that
suggests what kind of network settings should be for sharing. An example: I
have a database that only I can get into (password protected) sitting on
F:\Document control. Another db sitting on G:\ojt\Production links tables in
my db. My db also has linked tables to another db on G:\ojt. If either of
these databases is opened and a form is using the linked tables, I get read
only on my db. I eventually have to have IT drop everyone out of the other
dbs so I can open mine. What is happening here? Sorry if I'm not clear, it
is complicated problem causes a big headache.

What permissions do you and the other users have on the folder where the
backend MDB file exists?

All of you need Read, Write, eXecute, Delete to the folder or you'll see
problems like this.
