read only attrib

Aad Schrama

I have installed a new system with WinXP Proffessional, I've copied
all files and folders from my old system (also Win XP prof)via my
network.
I discovers all files and folders have the "read only" attrib, and I'm
no longer able to delete those files. I tried to change the
attributes, but without succes?

Someone an idea?
Thanks

The read only attribute is usually turned on when copied to a CD. They
can not be changed while on the CD. Is that the problem?

Folders in XP always show as Read Only in Properties, leave them alone.

To change the files in all the folders, open each folder, select (highlight)
all files, right-click anyware on the highlighted files, go to properties
and uncheck the read-only box.
That way, you can fix every file in that folder in one go.
