"read and rate response" working intermitantly

If in wrong post, please advise where I should be.

using Outlook 2003
Recently added a new gmail account (don't know if problem started before or
after)
Ron DeBruins excel 2003 Google 6.01 search add-in not working properly,
either - again, I can't verify exact time line

Problem:
"read and rate response" was not working. coming up with a blank page and
said "done" on bottom left.
"read response" was working as normal.
Checked about 6 of each, (saved emails)
As I was finishing my first attempt to formulate my question, I tried
several "read and rate response"s again. THEY WORKED FINE.
I blew away my question. closed everything. tried it again, and lo, it was
back to NOT working.
Current state: "read and rate response" NOT working (blank page)
"read response" - Works great.
Ron's Excel Google search Add-In, just opens up to Google Groups "cover"
page - Does NOT "drill" down to a proper search, as it normally does.
I have NO idea is any of this is related.

Please help..................

Have you checked with Ron about the addin? Where did you download it? That
site might help guide you to the place to get more specific help.

Ron did advise me that the start up of the gmail should in no way have an
effect on his goggle search add-in.
For the record, I could not access this by clicking on the email, either.
Had to look it up by sigining in thru Windows Live.
