Read Access to Scheduled Tasks

I want to give read access to some of my domain users for Scheduled Tasks on
a specific Windows 2003 Server. I can assign the read access and then share
the c:\windows\tasks folder using the share a folder wizard. The problem is
that the view is not correct. The users do not get the Scheduled Tasks view
which shows last run, next run, completion code, etc. Any ideas?

John,

If a folder higher up is shared (Admin$ is a administrative share to
\\Whatever_server\%systemroot%\), then the tasks folder is navigated to then
it seems to work.

IE \\server\Admin$\tasks does work.

I can understand from a security perspective not wanting share above the
tasks folder (systemroot), but when the tasks folder is shared to the
'consumer' it is a share not a tasks folder. Another option may be to find
out how to move the Scheduled Tasks folder into a less sensitive parent
folder.

There are numerous shareware utilities that integrate with Scheduled tasks
and one may be suitable for your needs.
