Re post Do not use dail up connection

Hi

This is a repost as I don't think I explained myself too well before. I have
a VPN connection that uses a dail up connection to, this works fine. However
I have a LinkSys ADSL modem router (WAG54G) that connects to the internet
and as such is my default gateway. I connect to this router via TCP/IP. So
in my VPN connection I have unchecked the dail a dailup connection in the
hope that when I try to establish a connection it will go via my default
gateway. However this does not work. I have tried adding route add <IP
Address mask gateway>, to try and force the connection to use my ADSL
connection but it does not work. Do I need to set up a VPN with the router
or can I use my default gateway to establish the connection. Using Win XP
SP2

Thanks in advance

Hi

I have a better understanding of the problem now, my Linksys WAG54G is
blocking the VPN traffic. See extract from the handbook:-

.. VPNs that use IPSec and AH (Authentication Header known as protocol 51)
are incompatible with the

Gateway. AH has limitations due to occasional incompatibility with the NAT
standard.

Not sure what I can do really.
