Re-installing windows

i've recently bought a second hand computer. the OS is a legal windows xp
home edition sp2. i'm thinking of buying a bigger disk because the old one is
small and is starting to give me some problems, but and don´t know if or how
i can transfer the legal OS from one disk to another. cananyone help?

Swapping hard drives - leaving everything else the same? No problem -
should be fine.

I would perform a clean install with the media you should have been provided
in any case - used computer and all that.

From what I understand, when you purchase a new hard drive today (
Retail ) it comes with software that enables you to
move the existing OS to the new drive. You can also go to the
manufacturer of hard drive's website and download the
software.

As long as the OS is legal...you can transfer it to a larger drive.


Acronis True Image is a good product that I've used and can confirm that it
works...

It would be less expensive than buying the OS
