Re-installing Windows XP pro

I have no audio from my onboard audio. This is a new Asus P4S800D-X
motherboard with SoundMax audio driver. There is no Volume Speaker in the
system tray, which Asus Tech Support says I have to get back by re-installing
Windows. When I try to do that from my Windows XP Pro CD I get the message
that the version of Windows on the computer is more recent than on the CD.

How do I re-install Windows XP Pro?

Thanks

Hi Bazooka,

Did you first try downloading and installing the most recent sound drivers
that are available from Asus?

As for the message that you are receiving when reinstalling XP, chances are
that you have a Service Pack (SP1 or SP2) installed on the computer and that
Service Pack is not integrated in the install CD that you are using. You
could create a slipstreamed install CD by following the instructions here:
http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm
(or do a web search for slipstreaming instructions, as plenty of them abound!)
Also, many people seem pleased with having used autostreamer to slipstream:
