Re-Installing Vista

I had received my Vista Free Upgrade from Dell. I had Windows XP Media
Center, and after installing Vista, it worked fine, but my printer was pretty
old, so I'm guessing it wasn't compatible. So I re-installed XP and now since
I have a new printer, I would like to go back to Vista, especially since I
upgraded my RAM to 2GB.

My problem is when I put in the Product Key, it says that my key is invalid,
but it wasn't before.

Hi,

Does it say it's invalid or that it's in use? Invalid means that when you
type it in during setup it doesn't work at all and setup cannot proceed. "In
use" means you are trying to activate the installation and it is refused,
saying the key is already in use.

For the former, you need to recheck what you are inputting to make sure you
aren't confusing 8 and B, 0 and O, 1 and I, 5 and S, etc.

For the latter, well yeah, it's in use because you already used it. Use the
phone activation option to get a the system reactivated. If the automated
sequence fails, just hold the line for a real person to assist you.
