Re-installing fax from OEM recovery discs

I have a 5 year old Compaq desktop system and recently did a system restore
and clean installs on everything. I did this using Compaq's system recovery
discs, which did a great job of reinstalling XP, but aren't organized the way
a traditional XP installation disc is.

I want to re-activate XP's fax option, but XP keeps asking for an
installation disc and can't find where in Compaq's recovery discs the
requisite files are. Any clues how to proceed?

Unfortunately, your OEM is responsible for providing those files. There is
no other way to get them.

OEM distributors often include an Options folder on the system drive which
has the Windows installation files containing drivers and other Windows
programs. It may be a subdirectory of the Windows folder.
