re-installed windows xp and trying to get msn messenger to work

I just reinstalled windows xp and now i'm download the msn messenger and when
I try to login to it, it says the application has failed to start because
WINHTTP.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this
problem...but how do you install it?

have you checked out control panel > add/remove programs > add/remove
components > windows messenger ?
