Re-installation of XP

I had a problem Windows XP and getting my broadband connection, after trying
different troubleshooting tips, I decided to re-install Windows XP (SP2)

Problem is I can no longer access my old files as I was Admin with
files/folders restricted on my original install, now the new install won't
allow me access to folders under that account and the files within

Is there any way I can gain access to those files, even just to delete them
to delete the gb's of Hard drive they are taking up?

Reinstalling just SP2 should have no bearing on any of the accounts, installing
xp with SP2 will.If youre doing the later, youre installing xp wrong (probably
in windows explorer)..You need to boot to the xp cd,select install xp,new
copy,
delete the partition, create one, then xp formats the hd &
reinstalls.Otherwise,
if you simply reinstalled SP2 & created that mess,at start up or
restart,tap the
F8 key, select safe mode, enter xp as administrator, edit what files you need
to.

Seems to me that by now you should know the correct answer to that
question, Andrew. The question has been asked and answered countless
times, the answer is always the same. You really don't even try at all,
not even the least little bit...

If you hadn't encrypted the data files (which could not have been
done with WinXP Home), you may be facing nothing more than a simple
permissions issue. Have you tried taking ownership of the old folders?

Utterly clueless, as usual, Andrew. Why do you bother?
