Re-formatting partition

Greetings all. Im running Win2k and wondering if it is possible t
format a partition on my HD. My HD is 20g. I had split it for som
other work I was doing last year. That is finished and I would lik
to open up the space on D without losing anything on C. I was told
could simply open my computer, right click on the desired drive an
hit format. I have tried this twice but the machine just doe
nothing. I left it like this for 35 minutes last night, and for 3
minutes it said "formatting drive d" but nothing ha
changed.

When I boot up now, dskchk tries to run a scandsk because there ar
some files on d that can't be read. Upon running the scandsk, th
comp just freezes to nothing

I searched through the forum but didnt see anything I needed

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Looks like the drive may be dying, or something else is.

Post the Everest SMART data for the drive here.
